Aisha/Nex Story: A Few Details About Aisha and Nex

My story may be about Aisha and Nex, but they won’t be the same as you know them in Winx Club. I’ve spent the last several weeks developing their backstories, motivations, and character arcs (especially Nex’s, since Aisha has more to work with). Here’s a small, spoiler-free preview of my ideas. ?

(Warning: this is a work-in-progress, so some things may change.)

Aisha

• The girl needs a character goal. She’ll have one in my story, but it won’t revolve around Nex. (Remember: their love is my goal, not theirs.) Instead, I’ll build and expand on the foundation Rainbow set for her in Winx season two (and damaged in season three).
• She won’t be “The Athlete” in my story. (I hate that Rainbow boiled her down to that in World of Winx.) Will she still like sports? Yes, but I haven’t figured out how to work that into the plot yet.
• Aisha will have a character trait she doesn’t have in Winx Club. It might surprise you, but I think you’ll agree she should have had it because of her backstory. I’ll give you a hint: it’s another Winx’s main trait (though Aisha won’t have it to the same degree or for the same reason).
• The first “book” won’t take place on Andros. Why will she leave home, and how will she meet Nex? You’ll find out. ?

Nex

• Remember my birth order theory post? It summarized my research to figure out how to tie Nex’s personality traits together. He’ll be the youngest child in his family, and one of his siblings will play a major role in the story.
• Aisha and Nex will both suffer in my story, but he’ll suffer more. It’s about time. Rainbow has been too nice to him. ?
• Like Aisha, he will like sports, but he won’t be “The Jock”. Again, I don’t know how I’ll work sports into the story, but it will be something he and Aisha bond over just like in Winx Club. (It won’t be the only thing, though.)
• Nex will have a favorite place he visits almost every day. It sells an indulgence he can’t get enough of. ?

Again, some of these details may change because I’m still in the brainstorming stage. But I feel confident in the direction of the story right now. I’ll share more with you as time goes on. Stay tuned!
