Aisha/Nex Fanfiction Ideas

Aisha and Nex ignite my imagination more than any other couple in Winx Club. The ideas below aren’t the results of a random brainstorming session. I’ve used all of them to develop stories about this couple, a few of which already have published chapters. My hope is this will inspire Winx fans to write fanfics that build and expand upon Aisha and Nex’s characters and relationship.

For each example, I’ll explain what details, moments, episodes, etc. sparked this idea. Keep checking the page for updates. (I can’t write all my ideas in one sitting.)

1. Life and Death

Life and death — two opposite realities that affect every person on Earth, regardless of their physical or social traits. Rainbow has weaved these realities into Aisha and Nex’s characters and relationship. (I’m working on a post about Nex’s death symbolism.) How can Life love Death? How can Death love Life?

The most simplistic and cliché route for this story is “Life is good, Death is evil”. Why not try something more creative?

One concept I want to play with is Death as an extrovert. Death-themed characters are often moody loners, solemn elders, or comic relief characters, but Nex is a sociable, playful young man. What does it mean for Death to be a people person? I’ve thought of some lighthearted and dark possibilities.

What Sparked This Idea?

The name Aisha means “life” or “alive” in Arabic, and the word “nex” means “death” in Latin. I seriously doubt Rainbow did that by accident.

2. Water and Wind

I wrote a post about this (see below), so I might as well quote myself:

All living things on Earth need air and water. Without either of them, we’d die. What is wind? Moving air. Voilà….

Wind (air) and water are everywhere, even in each other! Along with keeping us alive, they make waves, regulate climate, and shape the earth through erosion….

But these two elements can also interfere with each other. For example, if your lungs fill with water instead of air, you die. Water doesn’t belong there. And the wind can dry you out, which means you lose moisture (water) from your body. So wind and water have a life/death dynamic, too, but everything’s fine as long as they stay balanced.

What Sparked This Idea?

Aisha is a water fairy (as we know), and in Winx season six and seven, Nex wielded the Halberd of the Wind. They literally controlled the most essential elements in creation, the two elements that every living being needs.
