Wings: A “Winx Club” Retelling: Nex’s Profile
I debated whether to share this on the blog or let you find out when you read my rewrite, but who cares? We know some of the other guys’ backstories already. Why not know Nex’s ahead of time?
During Winx season two and three, each Specialist had his own profile on WinxClub.com. Sadly, we can’t access them anymore since Adobe Flash is dead, but I saved screenshots of them. I’m sure other fans did, too.

Hi! I’m Nex! I’m a Paladin, and I’m studying at Malacoy Academy. I was born on 22nd March, and my fairy sign is Phoenix.
My family moved a lot when I was a kid. It was hard to say goodbye to my friends all the time, but I love meeting new people!
I’m athletic, I love geocaching and anything else outdoors and I’m the best at any sport! I’m also a great fighter, especially with my Halberd of the Wind, and since I’ve lived in so many places, I know how to survive in any environment.
People say I’m outgoing, brave, hot-blooded, a little mischievous, loyal and determined. They call me arrogant, too, but they’re just jealous that I’m good at everything!!
Notes
- I left out the reason Nex’s family moved so much, which means there’s still something to learn about him. ?
- In my rewrite, Malacoy Academy, where Avalon taught before Alfea, will be a school for Paladins. It was called Malacoy Paladion Academy in the 4Kids dub. I’ve always thought it was the easiest way to connect Nex to Winx season 1-3.
- It’s my story, so his birthday will be March 22.
- Since he’s an outdoorsy guy, I thought geocaching would be an interesting hobby for him. I wanted to give him something else besides just sports.
I’ll talk more about why I chose this backstory for him in a future post. What do you think so far?

If I had to guess, I’d say his family moved a lot because of one or both parents’ job(s). The only other reason I can think of is if one of his parents is an outlaw or something, and that seems a tad dramatic. But hey, anything could happen.
I really like the idea of him geocaching! I can imagine him doing it as a kid, running all around the places he lived. And maybe he can introduce the idea to Aisha and they could make a date out of it.

No, Nex doesn’t have a criminal parent. ? Based on what we know about his personality and attachment style, I don’t think he had that kind of childhood or people like that in his life. As for your other guess…you’re kinda right, but there’s more to it. ? I took a somewhat common situation in real life and Winx-ified it.
Yes, that’s exactly what I was thinking with the geocaching idea! He also likes collecting things to make geocaches and hide them in the various places he’s lived. And yes, he will introduce Aisha to it. She loves spending time outdoors, too, so it would make a fun date for them. ❤️
I largely moved because of my parents’ work. Without getting too deep into it: my mom is my family’s breadwinner, and she’s had difficulty finding jobs that will hire her for longer than two years at a time. Sometimes we moved because she had gotten a job, and sometimes just because we thought there would be better job prospects in a different area.

Geocaching is fun…you might say it rocks. Yes I’m taking Nex’ new hobby for granite. I have a few gems myself…too bad one them is where the Eraklyon defecfor gets her name. Amusingly a Bloomix move is the october birthstone, despite the fairy in question actually being a turquoise/garnet…and Nex found a pearl in the sea. Edit: got confused about it, but I actually did the treasure hunt the old fashioned way at vacation spots. Enjoy the jokes.
