Winx Season 8: Who Are Aisha and Nex’s Voice Actors?
Winx season eight premiered in Russia today. The ending sequence used the English credits, so we now know who voices Aisha and Nex in the 3Beep dub.
Aisha: Elinor Vanderburg
I found a profile for Elinor Vanderburg, and this tidbit got my attention:
She can currently be heard as the voice of Aisha on the animated series, World of Winx, currently on Netflix.
Wait…what? Alysha Deslorieux is credited as Aisha in both seasons of World of Winx, and Elinor Vanderburg is a different person, not an alias. What gives?
A lot of fans said Aisha sounded different in World of Winx season two. Since the credits said Alysha Deslorieux still voiced her, we thought 3Beep just gave her different directions. But what if it was actually Elinor Vanderburg voicing Aisha? That makes a lot more sense!
I couldn’t find any other voice credits for Elinor Vanderburg, so Aisha may be her first role.
Nex: Marc Thompson
Marc Thompson is an experienced voice actor. In Winx Club, he voiced…Knut in the 4Kids dub (maybe in season eight, too) and Brafilius in season seven. Ugh. ?
He also voiced Jim in World of Winx! That’s a relief! ? Let’s hope he plays Nex more like Jim than like Knut or Brafilius.
That’s all for now, folks! I have a beautiful new fan art commission to show you, but I’m waiting until the artist posts it to her DeviantArt gallery. Stay tuned! (UPDATE: Here it is!)
I wonder if Marc Thompson voicing Nex is 3beep’s idea of a joke of those who despise him. That being said…I would prefer he was more like Jim for Nex than Knut or he who has dethroned Tritanus as the lamest villain ever. I mean really…Brafillius just won by coincidence all season until the Trix put him in his place…and that was one of the few times I was actually wanting them to win for once in their lives…can Icy please put him in stasis, or was Bloom leaving him to be a puppy worse of a punishment? Either way, I’m sure that the Winx, Specialists and Trix would all (shudders) agree that Brafilius was beneath their dignity…out of adversary respect if nothing else. I mean Tritanus might have been a weak villain, but a weak one is better than a lame one.
On a more serious note….who’s the rest of the cast this time around apart from Emily Cramer as Bloom? Also it’s a good thing too that Emily’s Bloom. If I hadn’t known from Michael’s site, I would have thought that it was Liza. Now as for Elanor Vanderburg…it is a bit different, but it still sounds like the voice most people associate with Aisha, which is either Keke Palmer or Vashti Mompoint’s voices, just a little more serious…fitting for Aisha really.
I’m not sure what you mean about Marc Thompson voicing Nex being a joke. ? As for the rest of the cast, Stella and Tecna are the only Winx who kept their original DuArt/3Beep voice actors. Flora is now voiced by Brittany Pressley, and Musa is voiced by Alyson Leigh Rosenfield.
Sky, Brandon, Helia, and Timmy’s voice actors haven’t changed. Nex’s voice actor wasn’t listed in the season seven credits, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Marc Thompson then, too. Riven is voiced by Jesse Manocherian.
A jab at the fans of Nabu maybe was what I meant. Just 3beep’s (or Rainbow’s way) of saying, “you think he’s a joke? Well…how about we get the guy who does our actual joke characters to play him instead so…have fun!”
Also nice to know that the rest of the cast hasn’t changed much outside of Bloom, Musa, Flora and Aisha. Though from what people are saying…Flora sounds too much like Stella in the clips from the english dub that we’ve seen so far. Maybe Rebecca Soler can help with that one? I also wonder if she had coached current Tecna on how to be Tecna…afterall wouldn’t a Tecna be best suited to tutor a Tecna?
I feel bad for Elinor Vanderburg if she wasn’t being acknowledged for her work just because somebody forgot to change one line in the credits. I’ll be interested to see how the English dub sounds – and how it’s released.
Yeah, I feel bad for her, too. ? At least she’s getting proper credit this time.
A lot of people think season eight will be released on Netflix in the U.S. I kinda hope not.
In the US it might be better for it to be on Netflix. Either there or back on This TV like how the Cinelumè dub finally made it to the US. There’s advantages to either one really. Both allow for a fresh, less objective audience, but Netflix would give Rainbow all the creative freedom they need on the otherhand, This TV would give them more exposure and that would provide Rainbow with more of a budget. Anything is better than Viacom.
