Winx Couple Name Order: Why I Say “Aisha and Nex”

Have you noticed when I talk about this couple, I say Aisha’s name first? That’s on purpose.

Part of it is about their name meanings. When we talk about life and death, we usually say “life” first. Life comes before death in the cycle, after all.

But there’s a simpler, non-symbolic reason, too. In Winx Club, Aisha is more important than Nex. I like him, but it’s the truth. Aisha is one of the Winx, the characters the show is named after. Nex is just a supporting character.

To me, it feels disrespectful to say his name first. I only do it when I talk specifically about him and bring Aisha up later. But when I talk about them as a couple, I always say “Aisha and Nex” — never “Nex and Aisha”.

Same with the other Winx couples. I say “Bloom and Sky” or “Tecna and Timmy”, not “Sky and Bloom” or “Timmy and Tecna”. My brain won’t even let me type the guys’ names first without resistance.

I’m probably the only Winx fan who thinks it matters, but that’s fine with me.
