Winx Season 8 Premieres Soon…
2019. Hard to believe it’s only days away. I used to be excited about next year, thinking that Aisha and Nex may finally gain popularity. Every Winx season is another chance at redemption, right?
But the more I hear about Winx season eight, the less hopeful I feel. With anniversary fever in the air, the Winx fandom is focused on the show’s past more than ever. They want Nabu to come back and Nex to disappear. If they don’t get their wish, they’ll probably resent Aisha and Nex forever, no matter how well Rainbow develops their relationship.
It really does seem too late. That’s why I’m not looking forward to season eight anymore. I might not even watch it.
I’m not giving up on Aisha and Nex, though. They’re such a clever concept with so much story potential. The way they’re being treated right now is unacceptable.
I’ll build a new audience for them — an audience that will support and celebrate them and understand how valuable they are. That’s my New Year’s resolution for next year and every year until I succeed.
I’m gonna watch season eight still, partly because I still really care about most of these characters and partly to just continue providing an alternate opinion to the vocal majority. However, all of the ridiculous attempts at nostalgia that have been reported are starting to make me weary (Riven, Sirenix, Enchantix, AND Valtor? Seriously, Rainbow?). I really hope all of that just happens in one flashback episode or something, but that seems kind of unlikely from what people have been saying. But then again, all of what we’ve heard may have been wildly inaccurate. That’s certainly happened with this fandom before. And even if they are correct, I’ll still watch it, just to see where they go with it.

That’s fair. And I agree with you. Rainbow is going overboard with the nostalgia, to the point where season eight is starting to sound like a cheesy fanfic. Just having Riven and Valtor is bad enough. The fandom is already focusing more on them than anything else in the season.
Anyway, that picture is from La Leggenda di Eraklyon. Aisha and Nex wore those outfits to Daphne and Thoren’s wedding. ?

Season 8 is going to be good, don’t worry. Whether that applies to the year 2019 however remains to be seen. 2019 could be as bad as 2018, even worse or -which would be a miracle- a tremendous year. The last great year I had was at the beginning of this decade and it’s been going downhill from there ever since. Especially the later years (2015-now) have been TERRIBLE.
But since 2019 is the last year of this decade, it might actually turn out well. I pray to my dear grandma that she may help make the next year a good one. I have my doubts though. The logical step would be to expect the worst but hope for the best.

well lets see there were 15 fatal aviation accidents with 556 people dead as a result, countries have been involved in trade wars, telltale shut down, Indonesia was hit by 2 tsunamis, another ebola outbreak in the congo while over in my country Maplins, Toy r us and poundworld went bankrupt, brexit is becoming a disaster and Hmv is in administration again and could disappear from the high street

Not great. ? Of course as you know, I quit my Winx blog. Money has been…pretty much nonexistent. I’ve been having a strange new health issue that comes and goes, along with having trouble sleeping. There are also some ongoing things that I’d rather not talk about.
