Someone Fixed Nex’s Italian Winx Wiki Page…Sort of *UPDATE*

When I wrote my description of NEXX! back in February, I pulled some of it from Nex’s Italian Winx Wiki profile. Here’s what it used to say under “Personalità” (translated by DeepL):

Nex is a proud and bossy guy, and he always wants to show he is brave and ready to take action. He has a rebellious and dark nature, and because of this sort of dislike that others have towards him, he often tends to isolate himself. He feels he’s in competition with whoever is in front of him, and he is passionate about sports, which he trains constantly, because of a strong desire to perfect himself more and more and to show that he is the best at what he does. He is in love with Aisha, and at the end of the sixth season, he manages to win her over. Their relationship has greatly improved his behavior in the seventh season. He is an excellent swordsman and athlete; the weapon he prefers is the Halberd of the Wind.

Bossy? A rebellious and dark nature? Tends to isolate himself? Feels he’s in competition with whoever is in front of him?

Sigh. ?

Who were they talking about? Riven? It sounded more like Riven. He’s bossy, rebellious, and dark-natured; he’s a loner, so of course, he isolates himself; and he’s so competitive, he even turns battles into contests (especially with Sky). Also, in Winx season six, he was so obsessed with training that he wanted to skip missions.

But none of that applied to Nex, so why was it on his profile? I bet whoever wrote it is one of those fans who thinks he’s a copy of Riven.

Well, after four or five years, someone finally fixed it! Here’s what it says now:

Nex is a proud and authoritative guy, and he always wants to show that he is brave and ready to take action. He is passionate about sports, which he trains [in] constantly. He is in love with Aisha, and at the end of the sixth season he manages to win her over. This relationship of theirs greatly improved his behavior in season seven. He is an excellent swordsman and athlete, his favorite weapon is the Wind Halberd.

Better. At least they got rid of the Riven-esque stuff. There’s just one problem: I didn’t translate that. That’s how it’s written, word for word.

Kudos to whoever did this, but English text doesn’t belong on an Italian profile. Let’s try again, shall we? Here’s a new text in Italian, with some edits and additions from Nex’s character descriptions:

Nex è un ragazzo estroverso e sicuro di sé, appassionato di sport. Vuole sempre dimostrare di essere coraggioso e pronto ad agire. Ma a volte è troppo competitivo e si comporta come se fosse il migliore in tutto. È innamorato di Aisha, e alla fine della sesta stagione, è diventato il suo fidanzato. Questo loro rapporto ha contribuito a migliorare il suo comportamento, e nella settima e ottava stagione, ha dimostrato di essere affettuoso e di affiancarla.

È un eccellente spadaccino e atleta. Nella sesta e settima stagione, la sua arma è stata l’Alabarda del Vento. Nella ottava stagione, ha brandito un paio di spade corte di luce.

I don’t speak Italian, so I don’t know if I messed up the grammar or used a word that doesn’t mean what I think it does. ? But someone on the site can clean it up.

What does it say? It says he’s “extroverted and confident” (estroverso e sicuro di sé). “But sometimes, he’s too competitive and acts like he’s the best at everything” (ma a volte è troppo competitivo e si comporta come se fosse il migliore in tutto). He became Aisha’s boyfriend at the end of Winx season six, and in seasons seven and eight, “he was shown to be loving and supportive of her” (ha dimostrato di essere affettuoso e di affiancarla).

I think it’s a balanced description — not too positive or too negative. It gives you a sense of Nex’s personality, and it doesn’t paint his relationship with Aisha as a “love fixes everything” gimmick.
