Winx Magazine #179: Aisha and Nex in Couples Spread & Puzzle *UPDATE*
It’s February, a.k.a. Love Month! ❤️ That’s always Aisha and Nex’s best chance to appear in Winx Magazine together. Sure enough, they were on not one but two pages! Yes! ?
Meet The Winx Couples
Rainbow devoted a spread this month to all the Winx couples. (Not just Bloom and Sky? Thank goodness!) Here’s Aisha and Nex’s text (my translation):
Aisha and Nex
Type of Couple: They’re athletic and full of energy.
They love: Doing water sports.
Their dream: To compete in a swimming competition.
The first line is obviously true, but what’s with the “water sports” part? I guess it’s a reference to “Mystery of Calavera” (Winx season 6, episode 15).
It’s not too random. We know Aisha loves the ocean. Why wouldn’t she? She’s a water fairy, for crying out loud!
As for Nex, he wanted to go “windsurfing and wakeboarding” on Calavera Island. That suggests he liked doing those things before he met Aisha. And remember when he surfed with Sky in “Back To Paradise Bay” (Winx season 7, episode 16)?
I guess Aisha and Nex’s love of water sports fits the canon — not that it is canon, of course. I know Rainbow made it up for this section. Same with the dream of competing in a swimming competition. Do couples swimming competitions even exist? (Checks Google.) Oh, they do.
Anyway, I hope Rainbow has better plans for this couple than playing in the waves (as Aisha put it). I’m still happy they included these two, though. ?
By the way, the pink circle next to Flora says, “Color the heart next to your favorite couple”, soooooo…

Update
After looking at the translation again, I realized the last part actually says, “To challenge each other to a swimming competition”. How romantic. ?
Rainbow, why are you doing this? You could have written anything, and that’s what you came up with? Do you want the fandom to hate Aisha and Nex? Are you intentionally making them look bad? If not, you’re doing a brilliant job anyway. ?
Oh, well. Like I said, this stuff isn’t canon.
Find The Differences
Hey, look! Another Aisha/Nex game!

Martina971‘s watermark is in the way, but I can still see three of the five differences. Do you see them? This might help:

Final Thoughts
I love seeing Aisha and Nex together anywhere in the magazine, but I’m still hoping for more comics about them. Please, Rainbow!

I understand that Aisha and Nex are somewhaf competitive with each other, but still, Rainbow? You just had to put that of all things? facepalm Oh well, the magazine’s still cute anyway.
Yeah… ?
Well, it’s not that big a deal, I guess. Like I said, this stuff isn’t canon. Flora and Helia’s text is ridiculous:
Huh? ? If I needed proof Rainbow has no clue how to develop that couple, I just found it.
throws the entirety of Rainbow at a wall, no matter how physically impossible that is
Why is Riven portrayed in this magazine as a better boyfriend than Nex? I know, I know, it’s not canon, but still…UGH.
You know what I think? And I just thought about this, so that’s why I’m making another comment. I think Rainbow knows Riven is a horrible boyfriend. That’s why they’ve tried to break him and Musa up so many times. But the Winx fandom is so darn obsessed with him, the writers have finally given up and are now just playing along with their fantasy.
Who cares about Musa and all the horrible things he’s done to her? This is all about Riven now. We’re never gonna get to see her in a stable, supportive relationship.
And the Winx fandom truly believes Riven is a better boyfriend. They support him no matter how many times he makes Musa cry, no matter how many times she talks to her friends about feeling unloved, and no matter how many times she considers (or goes through with) breaking up with him. But Nex? He can’t say or do anything without immediate and permanent condemnation.
Oh, but, you know who would be the best boyfriend for Bloom? Valtor. He’s a stand-up guy! ?
The double standards in this fandom are incredible.
I wonder what it says on the Musa and Riven part…
About what you’d expect. It’s as if they never broke up. ?
“Sometimes they fight” SOMETIMES?! That’s a really weird way to describe them, all the couples fight sometimes ?
Rainbow’s pleased the fandom enough, they already
gave the couple another chance in the Season 4 finale,
because of negative backlash from fans. Back in October 2018,
WinxClubRus posted this: ‘Rainbow wants to withdraw old fans with the Live-Action who
grew up with Winx Club and are now 20-30’.
Why do they care so much about the old fans?
Why does Rainbow wants to please the fans all the time?
Do they think it’s their fault that they are mad,
do they think it’s their fault old fans are leaving/left?
