Aisha and Nex Fanfiction: NaNoWriMo

I’ve debated with myself whether to post about this, but why not? It might help motivate me.

Next month, I’m gonna take part in NaNoWriMo. My goal is to finish the entire first draft of my non-Winx AU Aisha and Nex fanfic Baby Steps.

I’m sure most of you know what NaNoWriMo is, but let me explain it to the two people who don’t. NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. Each November, writers all over the world challenge themselves to write 50,000 words of a novel in 30 days (about 1700 words a day). You may not end up with a story that’s ready for primetime, but you’ll have a manuscript you can polish into something dazzling.

I’ve never done NaNoWriMo before, but I got through two and a third years of Inktober even though I stink at art. A month of writing, something I’m better at, shouldn’t be as bad, right?

…Right?

By the way, I know I haven’t shown you the Nex redesign by PirateHearts yet. (Click here to see Aisha’s.) It’s been finished, but like I said in the last post, I feel like I’ve been writing about him too much lately.

Then again, few Winx fans treat him like a worthwhile character or talk about the merits and significance of his relationship with Aisha. 99 percent of the fandom’s content is, “I hate him!”, “He’s a second Riven!”, “Bring back Nabu!”, etc., etc. So we need more posts supporting Nex as a character and as Aisha’s boyfriend.
