Updates: “Baby Steps”, Winx Rewrite, A Future Post?
Sorry for going silent for almost a month. I’ve busy with IRL stuff, some important, some…not. ?
First, I’ve been getting my business up and running. Things are looking good, but I’ve had some problems with my website. It’s eating up more time than I expected. So much for transferring the skills I learned from running these blogs. ?

Second, here’s the not-so-important reason I disappeared: I got engrossed in a new video game — Tales of Arise. I know I don’t talk much about the Tales series, but I love it. Namco Bandai hoped TOArise would revitalize the series and take it to the next level. It did. Lots of players (including me) loved it, and it won Best RPG of the Year at The 2021 Game Awards.
I might write a post about one of the characters to better explain some things I’ve said about the Winx characters. Might be better to wait till I’ve finished the game, though. If you have finished it, please don’t spoil anything! ? And if you haven’t played it at all, what are you waiting for? It’s a great game, and you don’t need to know anything about the Tales series to get into it.
Anyway, just because I’ve been busy with other stuff doesn’t mean I haven’t been thinking about Aisha and Nex or my Winx rewrite.
Remember how I decided to write the first draft of my Aisha/Nex fanfic Baby Steps for NaNoWriMo this year? Well, I didn’t meet the 50,000-word goal, but I got close: about 40,000. Not bad. I wrote everything but the ending, which is fine with me because I didn’t like where the story was going. That just means I need to rethink it before I start editing.
As for my Winx rewrite, I’m mostly working on worldbuilding right now. Last week, I made a timeline of the history of the Magic Dimension. A few events will be the same as in Winx Club, but most of them are new or reworked. I hope you like what I’ve come up with.
So, that’s where I’ve been. Again, sorry for disappearing. I may not post again for the rest of the year, but rest assured this blog and this couple are still important to me.
Can’t wait to read!
Also, question for your retelling: will there be deities both real and mythical? That is will the Great Dragon and Darkar exist as well as other created gods (like Greek Mythology) because I found it kind of well not unrealistic but weird that everybody believes in the Great Dragon and never question his existence.
That’s something I found strange, too. The Great Dragon is basically a god, and everyone just accepts that? Even in a world where anything is possible, there would be some skeptics, as well as some people who practically worshipped him like a god.
So, yes, I plan to do more with mythology and spirituality in my story, especially as it relates to one of the classes in Winx Club. I won’t say anything more than that yet. ?
It wouldn’t be too far fetched to guess that after some cheesy pun pertaining to Bloom that Daphne (or anyone else that has a definitive end) does not violate magic rule #3 in your story would it? I mean the rules as stated by Genie in Aladdin must be enforced right? “It’s not a pretty picture”- Genie 1992, Aladdin.
Yep. Daphne died. She’s staying dead in my story — none of that “disembodied spirit” garbage. That also means she’s not gonna marry Thoren. I have a subplot in mind that might involve him, but I haven’t decided yet. We’ll see. Otherwise, he won’t be in the story at all.
I really do question the ethics of the Winx concerning death. Rainbow has Bloom and Aisha both revitalize somebody, twice! Yet the Ethereal Fairies said that they could only do it once. Do ethics not apply to the two “life” fairies? I thought that generally “Ms. Hearty Lightning Bug” was supposed to be the most ethical knowing the superhero code and following it and that Aisha generally agrees. The code/rules are in the Legion of Superheroes Oath.
Heroics 101
Use Powers for good.
Aid Team in times of Battle.
Protect the Innocent.
Keep their Secrets Safe.
I don’t think bending the major magic rules is a good idea…as by violating rule 3, rule 2 is also violated. No manipulating free will!
I had to think about this for a moment. So for Bloom, you mean Sky and Daphne, and for Aisha, you mean Queen Ligea and Nereus, right? Well, I can explain Aisha’s “resurrections”: they weren’t. Those two weren’t dead. They were dying, but she healed them before it was too late, either with Ligea’s coral gem or with her Sirenix wish.
Bloom is a tricky one, though. Sky had no pulse, which suggests he was dead. You can live for a short amount of time with a heartbeat, but normally, medical intervention helps with that.
When Bloom saved Sky, Flora said she “made a miracle happen”, so that really sounds like she brought him back to life. All I can say is…she’s the main character. Writers like to give their main characters ridiculous powers, and they don’t always think about the implications of them. So I see that scene as a mistake on Rainbow’s part.
As for Daphne, well, they retconned her story so she wasn’t dead, so technically, that wasn’t a resurrection, either. ?♀️
Yes, also that might be a good reason why it seems like Bloom and Aisha can do plot ex machina since Rainbow only cares about those two…and maybe Stella, but Stella hasn’t had a decent plot since Enchantix let her shine the most with a side plot concerning Bloom and Aisha each. Why can’t we get s3 Stella back? They have made her a walking blonde joke since season 4….which i thought was Sky’s thing, not hers.
I also forgot about the time limit stuff momentarily with Ligea. Now for a more fun question.
Does Aisha wear a blue enchantix or a green enchantix? Or is it a neutral teal/turquoise?
It’s both. There are two designs for Aisha’s Enchantix one (a mix of blue and green) is used in the first half of season 3 and another is used in the second half of season three (green with pastels)
