Winx Magazine Comic #131: “La Prova di Nex” (Nex’s Test) — Translation of Pgs. 1 & 2
Plot Summary
Aisha brings her new boyfriend, Nex, to meet her parents King Teredor and Queen Niobe. Nex makes a bad impression on them with a fancy trick gone wrong, and the king starts to doubt that this boy is right for their daughter. He decides to test Nex. If he can destroy the last Melusina — a half-serpent, half-woman monster that has threatened their realm for centuries — the king will declare him worthy of Aisha. Nex accepts the challenge.
Trivia
- This is the first comic that mentions Aisha and Nex’s relationship.
- As of Sept. 2018, Nex is the only one of the Winx’s boyfriends whose name appears in the title of a comic (in the original Italian or in English).
Observation
Even though Nex is Aisha’s third love interest in the show, he’s the only one her parents didn’t already know. Queen Niobe set up Aisha’s marriage to Nabu, and Roy was King Teredor’s assistant. That means this story — Aisha introducing her boyfriend to her parents — couldn’t have been told if she were dating Nabu or Roy. It was possible with Nex only. (More thoughts on that here.)

Niobe: It’s a special occasion! We are pleased to meet your new boyfriend!
Nex: Wait, Aisha, let me do it… Your parents will be blown away!

Nex: Oh, no! Maybe I calculated the aim wrong!
Nex: I’m so sorry! Is there anything I can do to make up for it?
