“Um, Actually…” #3: The Correct Correction
Here’s the statement again:
In Winx season six, the Specialists and Paladins received magic weapons at the Lynphea College Arena. They release the power of elements and objects in nature, such as wind, earth, lightning, the sun, and the moon. Each weapon is completely different from the others with its own unique abilities. The guys each chose the weapon best suited to his strengths.
The host of the “Um, Actually” show likes to write statements with nitpicky, easy-to-forget details that make them false. That’s what I tried to do here. The mistake was in this sentence:
Each weapon is completely different from the others with its own unique abilities.
Um, actually…that’s not technically true. At least a couple of the weapons’ abilities overlapped. Nex and Brandon could both create gusts of wind with their halberd and staff, even though only Nex’s halberd was wind-based. One example of this was in “The First Color of the Universe” (S7, EP04), when they teamed up to blow the island turtle’s lasers away to protect Aisha, Stella, and Musa.

If you really wanna get technical, Timmy’s crossbow and Helia’s bracelets both just shot lasers. Helia’s were just faster and spread more. But it doesn’t matter anymore since in season eight, all the guys get lightsaber variations because glowing weapons make for cooler space battles. (I’ll miss Nex’s halberd…and his Paladin uniform…and his original face and body.)
Anyway, was that mistake too nitpicky? ? I’ll go easier on you next time.
Tune in this weekend for another “Um, Actually”!
that one was tough
Yeah, maybe too tough. ?
yeah i have to agree
I suspected something was wrong with that last sentence, but I wasn’t sure enough where exactly to submit an answer. 😐 And I didn’t mind that this one was harder than the previous ones – that just made it more fun. Don’t feel bad about it. 🙂
