Winx Season 8: Aisha’s Enchantix Redesign
Looks like Rainbow kept their word. Enchantix is back. They revealed the redesigns and the new transformation sequence on the official YouTube channels.
As you may remember, Aisha had two Enchantix designs in Winx season three: a blue version and a green version (which Rainbow stuck with). So this is Enchantix #3 for her.
One big difference is her midriff is now covered. That’s true for the other Winx as well. Her skirt is also ruffled instead of straight. Clearly, Rainbow didn’t want Enchantix to be as skimpy as it was in the past.
A couple other changes:
- Aisha’s gloves are light pink instead of pale yellow.
- Her barefoot sandals have kelp-like ornamentations instead of pink beads.
Honestly, I don’t have an opinion on the redesign. I don’t like it, but I don’t hate it, either. Same goes for her original design. I liked some things about it, but some things (like the color scheme) looked ugly to me.
It’s not a big deal, though, because the new Enchantix is just another nostalgia gimmick. I bet the Winx will only use it for one or two episodes. And unlike Sirenix, Rainbow apparently isn’t gonna release any dolls of it.
Still, it’ll be pretty to look at, if nothing else.
What do you think of the redesign?
well the redesign i feel would have maybe worked better in season 3 but at least the fairy dust ex machina is gone however the sirenix design was one i feel should have been used in season 5 cause it suits the theme better i feel
Yeah, to be fair, Sirenix was just a gimmick, too. Rainbow found a decent way to incorporate it into the plot, but it still didn’t need to be in this season. And it would have been better if Rainbow had explained why the Winx could suddenly use it again. ?
the fandom is going nuts over the design but not in a good way it seems
What else is new? The fandom’s default reaction to everything is, “It’s different, so it sucks.”
yeah i could see that in the comment section
yeah it needed explaining
The Enchantix redesign is a really mixed bag for me. There’s one I really hate (Bloom’s), one I really like (Musa’s), and I’m neutral on the rest. For Aisha’s, I kind of wish they had used less pink, but otherwise I don’t really mind it. Also, calling it now: Enchantix won’t be used until the season finale. The Winx will defeat Valtor with it, then immediately change back to Cosmix to restore one last star, or something.
Yeah, my feelings are pretty much the same. I hate Bloom’s, but Musa’s actually looks okay to me. The rest are meh. And yeah, I agree about the overuse of pink in Aisha’s design. I wish they’d incorporated some light blue or pale yellow.
Also, I agree about this feeling like a season finale thing. That’s what I’ve thought the whole time.
I wonder why Rainbow stopped with the skimpy outfits thing and makes outfits
less revealing, as in the past. It’s not like i have problem with it, the fandom does apparently.
Stil it looks very beautiful, in my opinion.
The parents probably had a problem with it. And you have to admit: Rainbow went too far sometimes. The Sophix outfits were disturbingly skimpy. Flora was practically wearing a bra, and Aisha’s skirt was so short that there’s no way it would have covered her at all in real life.
i criticised that myself and honestly don’t mind them but the less revealing designs are more my favourite
I didn’t mind it. But of course, conservative parents had to step in again.
Well yeah that’s true. And i can understand why they adjusted it. But i heard that’s how italian girls always dress. But like you said, the Sophix outfits really were over the top. That’s really not how anyone dresses, even in Italy.
“Clearly, Rainbow didn’t want Enchantix to be as skimpy as it was in the past.”
I have also noticed, the less skimpy the Winx get the worse the writing tends to be, at least in my opinion (I think seasons 1-5 are good while the rest is just okay, but that’s just my point of view).
The new Enchantix is….something, just not Enchantix. It’s just sad that Rainbow feels the need to censor themselves If Enchantix is “too sexy”, don’t have the girls go back to it. It’s that simple. Better have the girls never use the previous transformations again, than to ruin them. The new Sirenix also sucks for me…probably “too hot” for the target audience as well. At least some fans are still trying to keep the Winx alive while Rainbow just thinks about money, pleasing the parents and marketing.
personally i prefer the new sirenix design over the old design
I don’t like that it’s pink. I wish they had used a cooler color scheme…
For me it’s becoming too uniform-like. Like, now the only difference are in the colors but season 5 had some differences, even if they were small. But now it’s too much pink…not just in Sirenix (for example, Flora went from green to pink again) but also Enchantix. Just look at Layla’s gloves, who were golden in the original version.
The redesigns just weren’t necessary from a storyline perspective. Will they add to the power of the girls? I doubt it. If anything, they have removed the fairy dust bottles from season 3 and that fairy dust helped a lot, if I remember correctly.
Not all changes are bad but not all changes are good either. If I hadn’t watched the show for the past years, I would have thought this was meant to be a reboot. I think Admin was right about anniversary seasons: they are only good for the nostalgic effect and nothing else. But nostalgia alone doesn’t tell a story. And I still can’t accept that Valtor, who died in season 3, is just coming back to life as if nothing had happened. When death isn’t permanent, there is nothing to fear for the heroes (and villains). No death has a meaning when the fallen can return at any point. I really have no idea what is going on in the Winx universe anymore.
For the most part, I agree with you here. But as for the fairy dust, it was too helpful in season three. Like Knight said, it was often used as a deus ex machina. Blindness? Apply fairy dust on your eyes (although I love that scene). Invisible building? Sprinkle it with fairy dust.
Need to get rid of all your character flaws, so you’ll be pure and holy enough to enter “Heaven”? Fairy dust!
I don’t like that Rainbow seems to have gotten rid of it, but it needed to go. I think they’ll be able to come up with better plot resolutions without it.
But wasn’t the fairy dust used to break curses? Aisha became blind because Valtor cursed her – hence Aisha using her fairy dust to break the curse. (Also wasn’t Cloud Tower disappearing a curse that Valtor put on it?)
I can see how it was over powered, but it was mentioned before the Winx got their Enchantix that the fairy dust was not only able to break curses, but also used to miniaturize.
honestly the idea of Aisha losing her sight had great potential to see how she dealt with it and how she adjusted her life to one without sight but the fairy dust ruined it
i think the fairy dust needed some limits and less usage
Now that I think about it, it was indeed a too powerful gimmick. But since Enchantix was supposed – in 2007 – to be the ultimate form, I can see why they have made it so strong. Of course, now it’s too overpowered when we see how many transformations we have. At least the animation of them drawing the bottles are nice. I just hope we get a hint as to why they are gone though. I don’t like it when important parts (or characters) just vanish without explanation and the viewer has to fill in the blanks. And since the dust saved their butts, its disappearance definitely raises questions. While we are add powerful items; why isn’t Stella using the Solaria sceptre anymore? It might help when things get tough and the girls need an extra hand. Or Timmy’s cool Phaser weapon from the early seasons? Shooting the enemies from afar could prove a pivotal role in victory…and it showed his geeky side by making him use a – kind of – Star Trek-like weapon.
By the way; I too liked the scene with Layla and the fairy dust giving back her sight. It was a heart-warming moment and I felt happy for her upon watching it for the first time.
The new designs are nice especially with Tecna having the full wings back and Musa’s having the golden swirls and the top of Aisha’s dress going similar to her concept design for it, though i agree about “Fairy Dust Ex Machina” needing to go. Bloom or Faragonda pulling something out of thin air is more tolerable…especially if Faragonda does it…because it just feels like the Winx are getting punished if Faragonda has to save their sorry cans…and we all just expect Bloom to pull something out of thin air anyways. As for getting rid of the dust? I think that’s what these new forms are for, so as to more or less remove the need for deus ex machina that isn’t Bloom…this way Enchantix and Believix are not extremely OP. Especially Believix.
Will have to answer with a teory:
It is different and refreshing at some point, even if Ido not wear pink even if it’s a pink celebration party, I do have the consideration of
1) It’s a magical girl show
2) Magical girls have uniforms
3) They are fairies
4) Just as humans, fairies can change clothes
5) Ehen at a scholl with uniform one normaly owns a replacement “just in case” of the clothes.
Conclution:
Even if it is a necklace I do always thought that they shall change a bit something every day they do wear their wings and are not living up as Morgana at Gardenia.
So lets put in the “reader fills the blank” option that Layla has pink gloves for when the yellow ones are dirty, and that Layla has 4 pairs of enchantix clothes;
1) Green with pink skirt and top
2) Blue with rainbow details skirt and top
3) A drees similar to the others (concept art).
4) A pink with green dress with similar pattern.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
That is for inuniverse explanation, now for the Rainbow part, it is something about demographics:
In later years there has been some movenents demanding girls (treatened as unintelligeble species) are not influenced by pop culture, so “their inocense won’t be shaltered before age”.
So the solution Rainbow studio offered is;
1) The Winx shall not look as models, so nonintelligeble girls won’t drown into anorexia
2) The Specialist must not bee sexy, they shall not resemble conection towards a full grown human male, they hold the power towards everysllution, only second to Bloom cause every full grown human male has been created as a clone of good, withouth hllding the title of good.
》Good is Dragon and Dragon is Bloom《
3) Clothes shall be common and modest so they are not special nor diva’stars, there iz no pride in being beautifull and different.
4) Skin is related to sex and impurity (even if in the sacred text pure ones at eden and heavenly worlds are nude to show their purity ) so they shall cover all their beauty with black burkas or hijabs, niqabs, al-amiras, shaylas, khimars or chadors (full body cloaks) and be ashamed of having shown skin in the first seasons.
5) Girls shall be girls and they can not imagine a world withouth hearts and pink lashes, they shalt be shown theor path into barbie world, where pink blonde is natural perfection and all shall be at the feet of one, as Bloom is the good, there is no world after her. So they can not dream of sports nor being at red fountain, so lets pray for pink color girly looks save us.*
* Read with sarcasm and resembling a priest, for it is a moff.

Ok, had overdone it this time with my joke, still really close to winx reallity. For Admin and others, it is the same Bratz relaunch at 2015 marketing strategy.
Something like [Girly Steriotypes + Candy World rated story content + No Violence + Designs for public with a real trauma with impurity and how it is related to clothing styles] equation elevated with fairy wings.
And as for fairy dust, lets say they are using it in a responsable way, “such as the ying yang, if theh use to much, something terrible with the same energy level will emerge somewhere at galaxy…”
So it is just for emergency cases and It shall be none in the last seasons [ Reverting natural death is necromancia so it doesn’t count inside the curriculum of a light fairy power.] And Musa still has her sirenix wish, so she could wish for Valtor’s destruction and sirenix guardians are trully much more deux alike cause they can actually grant wishes even if the wish contradicts the universe laws.
And yes, calling for Musa’s sirenix wish was without context just for having an introduction to sirenix guardians. After all “We all must love Musa” ☆☆☆☆☆
[…] in Winx season eight, the Winx are gonna get Enchantix again. I don’t know how or why. But they probably won’t have it for more than a couple […]
[…] too big, for starters, and the wrong shape. Sure, these could be new designs, but their Sirenix and Enchantix looks in Winx season eight still had the same wings. […]
Have you heard that Rainbow is rebooting Winx? I was wondering what you think, and if you’ll be watching. Also, do you think they’ll skip Nabu and bring in Nex earlier? Thats my hope. 🙂
