Happy Birthday, Aisha!

It’s June 15, which means…it’s Aisha’s birthday! ?????

Here’s the thing: we know the Winx fandom will make this day about her love interests, especially Nabu. But today has nothing to do with Nabu, Roy, or Nex. It’s all about her.

My question today is: What do you like about Aisha?

Borrowing the words of Brian W. Foster, part of the Critical Role staff: “Characters who aren’t a mess aren’t interesting to me.” I feel that way, too, so that’s why I love Aisha and her story. She is a mess sometimes. None of the Winx have struggled with as much emotional trauma as she has. Her story has also been the most unpredictable; no season is ever the same for her.

But that’s how life is. It’s random and overwhelming, and like the waves Aisha controls, it’s full of high and lows. But it keeps moving, so you have to go with the flow.

Aisha embodies the meaning of her name — “life” — beautifully. She’s not perfect or invincible, but she’s brave and resilient. It’s inspiring to watch her overcome so many obstacles, and it makes the happy moments in her life even more meaningful.

Happy Birthday, Fairy of Waves!

Happy Birthday Aisha. I wonder if anyone remembers my “About The Winx series from unadinoi-winx. If not here’s something I like about her. No matter how much “life” gives her the short stick, she gets back up and keeps going like the water cycle and is better for it.

In general, one of my favorite things about the Winx is that they all have their emotional stress and trauma, yet they manage to fight through it anyway. They use their powers to save both themselves and others, and are still seen as heroes even though they’re not perfect. I think that’s a really inspiring message for a kids’ show. But like you said, I think Aisha specifically represents this the best of the Winx. I mean, think of all she’s been through in addition to what happened to Nabu. She spent much of her first season with the Winx second-guessing herself and having trouble opening up to them. Plus, her only friends the Pixies ars under attack by the literal cause of all evil in the universe ever. Then her people are the first to get attacked by Valtor; and right when she’s starting to get over Nabu, her cousin goes insane and turns her friends and relatives into mutant sea monster things. Then the Pixies literally disappear out of existence, and she temporarily loses her powers.

And through it all, she still remains, determined, and she still manages to be one of the most skilled members of the Winx in regards to combat, and pure magic power. What a great character. Happy (belated) birthday, Aisha! Have some cake and relax for a while. You deserve it. 🙂

Edit: when I wrote this, I thought that it was Sunday the 16th, and that’s why I said it was her belated birthday. Derp. 😐 Happy actual birthday, Aisha!

Also, completely on accident, today is going to be the day I upload my Aisha x Nex video! Hurrah for random coincidences!

Hey Admin, did you get the latest email I sent you? If you did and you just haven’t responded to it, that’s fine. I’m just a little paranoid, because the email has links in it, and I’m afraid it got sent to your spam because of that. Sorry if this comment was pointless.
