Aisha/Nex Fanfiction: “Baby Steps” (AU)

I posted this on AishaAndNex.com a while back, but I might as well post it here, too.

About a month ago, I came up with a new Aisha/Nex fanfiction idea. I didn’t have a name for it, but now I do. It’ll be called Baby Steps.

The story will take place on Earth, and Aisha and Nex won’t be a fairy and a Paladin (I mean, Specialist) — just regular humans. She won’t be a princess, either. I know I complained about Netflix demoting her to a commoner in Fate: The Winx Saga, but my story isn’t fantasy like Winx Club. Don’t worry: she’ll still be from a well-to-do family.

I’m also changing her father’s name from Teredor to Theodore. Again, my story isn’t fantasy. “Teredor” sounds too much like a fairytale character. (Niobe will keep her name.)

Finally, I’m giving Nex an actual backstory! If Rainbow won’t flesh out his character, it’s up to me to do it. Fortunately, I have plenty of tools to work with. Read about one of them here. It might help you create better characters, too.

Baby Steps Synopsis

Aisha has finally escaped the social bubble she grew up in and moved to the big city to live on her own. As she settles in, she keeps running into Nex — at the coffee shop, the gym, on the sidewalk. Eventually, they get to know each other and become involved in each other’s lives.

Nex is a vlogger. He has a decent following — not in the millions, but sizable — but he’ll do anything to grow it more. Meanwhile, Aisha, a self-taught dancer, tries to catch her big break, but competition and her aloofness hold her back. They bring each other into their worlds and slowly discover they’re searching for the same thing.

I hope you enjoy my fanfic. It might surprise you what happens at the end, especially to Nex. That’s all I’ll say.
